Ward Road attempts to create a depot in the early days of BR diesels. As usual, the period is reasonably flexible but endeavours to cover the age prior to the introduction of the TOPs codes.
The depot is supposed to be built around a secondary main line that has now been abandoned -
Locos will arrive on the depot for fuelling and then be moved to a 'stabling' point. Most locos, when leaving the depot, will pass through the washing plant before departing off the layout to commence their operating duty.
The depot will hold around 60 diesel locos at any time, but the normal operating sequence allows about 40 on the depot out of around 130 available for use -
We have now disposed of Ward Road
