Warley Model Railway Club
Railway modelling in most scales and gauges
Warley Model Railway Club, Unit 1F Pearsall Drive, Oldbury, West Midlands, B69 2RA
Registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) Charity No: 1153792
This layout represents the terminus of the metre gauge 'Cote de Picardie' railway; although Mers les Bains is a real place the railway never existed, but we have imagined trains running north to St Valery and the Somme estuary.
The scale of the layout is 1/32nd which is, as far as we know, unique for a French narrow gauge layout. The track was laid by hand and all the loco's and rolling stock have been scratchbuilt, as were all the buildings. The layout uses DCC and all the loco's have sound.
The layout is 20' (7m) long by 2'6"(0.75m) wide and needs a floor space of 22' (7.5m) x 7'(2.2m). It is transported in a hire van (standard Transit size) and has two operators.
