Railway modelling in most scales and gauges

I decided to build this layout, from the feedback I got from the smaller Grandpa’s Little Train layout outings this year, which was well received by adults and children alike.
The outer 00 gauge ring will have Grandpa’s little train running and stopping automatically at the main station at the back and a new station HAWKINS HALT at the front.
The smaller train will run on N Gauge rail on a figure of 8 circuit in the centre.
The Theme Park attractions will be motorised wherever possible and controlled with very large coloured buttons by the children at the front, as will the smaller train.
It will also be used as a teaching aid, showing young children how to move around heritage railways and railways in general. It has already appeared at a number of railway preservation venues.
I have been very careful in my choice of materials and paints, with the whole of the layout surrounded with round-
The stock is readily available "off the shelf" models, then suitably modified. The engine is fitted with a Hornby chassis, whilst the carriages are fitted with Bachman bogie wheel units.
It is hoped that the first public outing of Hawkins Halt will be on Sunday the 23rd February 2014 at the Warley MRC Oldbury, Birmingham open day.
This new layout is 6ft long and 3ft 6in wide and will fit in my estate car.
It is going to be self supporting on four legs at a height of 2ft 6in.
